Quick answer: In Florida, AAA sells home and condo insurance only when bundled with their auto policy. AAA auto insurance can be written on its own.

As of 2026, qualifying homes are built in 1995 or newer, but eligibility also depends on roof age and overall condition.

We are an authorized independent AAA insurance agent in Jacksonville, FL. We quote AAA next to 80+ companies so you can see what actually wins for your situation. Compare AAA vs everything else or call (904) 268-3106.

AAA Insurance in Jacksonville, FL

Augustyniak Insurance Group is an authorized independent AAA agent, and we also have 80+ other companies on our shelf.

That mix is unusual. Most agents in town can either sell AAA or sell everything but AAA. We do both.

Now to the part most people don't find out until after they call. AAA writes Florida homes built 1995 or newer. That's their rule right now for 2026. If your home was built in 1994 or earlier, AAA can't write the home.

Your auto can still go with AAA on its own, and we have plenty of other companies for the home, including specialty ones built for older Florida homes. We tell people this up front because it saves a phone call.

If your home does qualify, here's the part most people looking at AAA don't realize: there are three completely different ways to set this up. That's where the decision actually happens, and that's what the rest of this page walks through.

Is the AAA bundle worth a quote?
  • Your home was built in 1995 or newer (AAA's 2026 Florida home guideline)
  • You own a single-family home or condo and at least one vehicle
  • The roof is in decent shape (under 15 years is a comfortable starting point on most Florida home companies, including AAA)
  • You are a current AAA member, or you do not mind adding membership
  • You like the idea of one company, one renewal date, and one deductible if your home and car get damaged in the same event

If your home is older than 1995 or you only need home insurance without bundling auto, AAA is not your fit. We have 26 home insurance companies on our shelf, including specialty Florida companies built for older homes. Skip down to how that works.

The Three Paths
Why Use a Local Agent

AAA Insurance Florida: Bundle, Auto Alone, or Split Across Companies?

Most Jacksonville households don't realize there are three legitimate ways to handle home and auto in Florida. AAA-direct can offer one of them. Captive agents (State Farm, Allstate) can offer one. We can put all three on the table.

Path 1

AAA Bundle (FL Package)

Home and auto with AAA together. One renewal, one deductible if both are damaged in the same event, multi-policy savings, and AAA membership benefits included. Often a strong fit when AAA's home rate is competitive in your ZIP.

Path 2

AAA Auto, Home Stays Put

Move auto to AAA by itself, keep your current home where it is. Useful when your home rate is good but your auto rate is not, or when AAA's home product doesn't beat what you have.

Path 3

Split Home and Auto Across Different Companies

Home with one company, auto with another, both written through us. You lose the multi-policy discount but gain access to the most competitive rate on each line. Sometimes the math wins, sometimes it doesn't.

This is the actual job. A family in Mandarin with a 2015 build, two cars, and clean driving records gets quoted differently than a Riverside couple in a 1925 home with one car. AAA might win on the first. AAA might not even take the second. We quote AAA the bundle, AAA auto by itself, and your strongest options across our other companies on each line separately. We have 26 home companies and 11 auto companies. Then we hand you the math.
Why AAA
Why People Choose AAA

Why Choose AAA Insurance in Florida?

Setting aside whether AAA wins on price for your particular home and cars, here is why people pick AAA when it does fit:

  • Strong financial rating.
The Auto Club Group, AAA's insurance company in Florida, is rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best. That is the rating that matters when you have a hurricane claim and need the company to actually be able to pay it. Plenty of Florida home companies have come and gone over the years. AAA has been around since 1902.
  • They handle claims with their own people.
When you have a claim, AAA uses their own claims adjusters instead of farming it out to a third party. That tends to mean faster decisions, fewer hand-offs, and less back-and-forth. After a hurricane, that matters a lot.
  • One bill, one renewal date, one deductible.
If your home and your car get damaged in the same event (think a tree on the roof during a tropical storm that also takes out your car), you pay one deductible instead of two. People who have not had a real claim sometimes shrug at this. People who have been through Matthew, Irma, or Ian do not.
  • Membership benefits stack on top.
You have to be a AAA member to buy the insurance, but the membership comes with roadside assistance, travel discounts, and a few other perks that some folks already pay for elsewhere.
  • Rates have been moving the right direction.
AAA cut their Florida auto rates three times in 2025 and dropped home rates 5% in the same stretch. They filed a fourth auto rate cut for 2026. Most companies are not doing that. If AAA was too expensive when you last looked, the math may have changed.
One thing to be honest about: AAA is a strong product, but it's not always the cheapest. Some months Progressive wins on auto. Some weeks a specialty Florida home company beats AAA on the home side. That's why we always quote AAA against the rest of our shelf instead of just selling AAA. The rate cuts help, but they don't make AAA the answer for everyone. Sometimes it wins. Sometimes it doesn't.
How AAA Works
The Florida Setup

How Does AAA Insurance Work in Florida?

AAA-branded insurance in Florida is written by two AAA-owned companies: Auto Club South Insurance Company (auto policies) and Auto Club Insurance Company of Florida (the FL Package, bundled home and auto). Both are part of The Auto Club Group, the second-largest AAA club in North America.

The reason this matters: AAA in Florida runs through two AAA-owned companies. Your auto policy goes through one. Your bundled home-and-auto goes through the other.

Same parent company (The Auto Club Group, second-largest AAA club in the country), same rating, same claims people. But two different policy paths depending on what you need.

Here is what each path covers:

  • The FL Package (home + auto together).
This is the only way to get AAA home insurance in Florida. Single-family home or condo paired with at least one vehicle, all on one policy. Written through Auto Club Insurance Company of Florida.
  • AAA auto by itself.
Auto-only policy through Auto Club South Insurance Company. You do not need a AAA home for this. We use it when AAA's auto rate beats what you have but you would rather keep your home where it is.
  • AAA Membership.
Required for both. If you are not already a member, we add it when we write the policy. The membership is what gets you roadside assistance and the rest of the AAA member perks.
  • Umbrella on top.
Once your home and auto are bundled with AAA, you can add a personal umbrella for extra liability. More on how umbrella works on our personal umbrella page.
If you need renters, a rental property policy, or a mobile home policy, AAA is not your answer. They simply do not write those in Florida. We have other companies that do, and we are happy to point you there even if you came to us looking specifically for AAA.

Who Qualifies
Eligibility

Who Qualifies for AAA Home Insurance in Florida?

AAA has rules about which homes they will write. They are picky in Florida, and that is not a bad thing. Picky usually means stable and around-for-the-long-haul. Here is what we look at when we review your situation, in roughly the order it matters:

  • Home built 1995 or newer.
This is AAA's 2026 rule. If your home was built in 1994 or earlier, AAA will not write the home side of the bundle. We have plenty of other companies that do, including specialty Florida companies that focus on older homes.
  • Single-family homes and condos.
AAA writes both. Mobile homes, manufactured homes, vacant homes, and rental properties are off the table.
  • The roof.
Roof age is the biggest single thing every Florida home company looks at, AAA included. Roofs over 15 years old get harder to place. If your roof is older, we usually want a 4-point inspection in hand before we run the quote.
  • Wind mitigation credits.
Florida law makes home insurance companies give you credit for things like hurricane straps, a hip roof, and secondary water resistance. AAA gives those credits. When we review your wind mit inspection, we make sure every credit you have earned actually shows up on the quote. More on 4-point and wind mit inspections.
  • Recent claims.
Water claims especially, and wind claims to a lesser extent, will affect what AAA can do. Every Florida home company is stricter on this than they were five years ago. AAA sits in the middle of the pack.
  • At least one car on the policy.
The FL Package needs both a home (or condo) and a vehicle. If you have no car, the bundle is not for you, but AAA auto on its own may still be.
  • AAA membership.
You have to be a AAA member. If you are not one already, we add it when we write the policy.
For condo owners: if you own a condo in Jacksonville Beach, the Southbank, downtown, or anywhere else in Florida, AAA writes condo + auto bundles too. Condo policies are called HO-6 in the industry. The same 1995-and-newer rule does not always apply to condos because the building is what gets pummeled by wind, not your unit. We just look at it differently. Worth a quote either way.

Florida Rate Activity

AAA Insurance Rates in Florida: What's Changed in 2025-2026

If you have been following Florida insurance at all the past couple years, you know the story has been mostly bad. Companies leaving the state. Big rate hikes. Roofs getting harder to insure. AAA's story is going the other direction.

Florida passed legal reforms in 2022 and 2023 that finally cleaned up some of the lawsuit problems driving claims costs through the roof. AAA has been passing those savings back to people who already have policies, not just new customers. That is not how most companies do it.

Here is what AAA has actually done in Florida over the past 18 months:

  • Three rate cuts on auto in 2025, more than 15% off in total
  • One rate cut on home, about 5% off
  • A fourth auto rate cut filed in October 2025, taking effect early 2026
  • About 139,000 Florida policyholders affected, around $70 million in annual savings statewide

Source: The Auto Club Group, November 2025; Florida Office of Insurance Regulation rate filings.

So what does this mean for you? If you priced AAA out a couple years ago and they were too high, that picture has changed. The fix is easy: send us your current home and auto declarations pages, and we will run a fresh AAA quote next to what you have right now. If the math is better, we will tell you. If it is not, we will tell you that too.
What's Included

What Does AAA Home and Auto Insurance Cover in Florida?

The FL Package is one policy that has your home and auto on it together. The coverages you get on each side are basically the same as what you would get if you had separate home and auto policies elsewhere.

The thing that makes the bundle different is how a few features are tied together. Here is what is on a typical AAA bundle:

  • One deductible if your home and car are both damaged.
This is the big one. If a tree falls during a tropical storm and crushes both your roof and your car, AAA charges one deductible instead of two. After Matthew, Irma, and Ian, anyone in Jacksonville who lived through hurricane season knows deductibles can run into thousands. Paying one of them instead of two is a real difference.
  • The home side.
The dwelling itself, things like a detached shed or fence, your belongings inside, additional living expenses if you cannot live in the home after a covered loss, liability if someone gets hurt on your property, and medical payments for guests. Wind and hurricane damage are built in (with a separate hurricane deductible, which is normal in Florida). Flood is not on this policy. That is not a AAA thing. No Florida home policy includes flood. We can write that separately.
  • The auto side.
Bodily injury and property damage liability (covers the other person if you cause an accident), PIP (Florida's no-fault medical coverage that is required by state law), uninsured motorist (covers you if the other driver does not have insurance, which is a real problem here), comprehensive (theft, fire, hitting a deer), and collision. AAA also offers stacked uninsured motorist, which is the version that protects you across multiple vehicles.
  • Add-ons we walk through.
Florida sinkhole coverage, water backup from drains, identity theft, extra replacement cost on the home, jewelry coverage above the standard limits, and original-equipment parts on auto repairs. None of these are forced on you. We talk through which ones make sense and which ones do not.
  • Umbrella on top.
Once the bundle is in place, you can add a personal umbrella for an extra layer of liability protection.
One thing AAA does not cover, and neither does any other Florida home policy: flood damage from rising water. If your home is in a flood zone, near the St. Johns River, or anywhere near the coast, you need a separate flood policy. We write flood through the National Flood Insurance Program and a couple private flood companies. We always check this when we review your home.

Already a AAA Member? Let's Run the Numbers.

If you're already paying for AAA membership, you're halfway eligible for the bundle. We'll quote the FL Package against your current home and auto and tell you straight whether it wins or doesn't.

No spam. No pressure. We give you the math and you decide.
The Real Comparison
Bundle vs Split

AAA Bundle vs Separate Home and Auto Insurance: Which Wins?

This is the question almost no one asks before buying AAA, and it is the one that decides whether the bundle actually saves you money. Bundling is convenient. Splitting is sometimes cheaper.

The honest answer depends on your home, your driving record, and which companies are competitive in your ZIP right now. A 2008 build in Mandarin gets quoted differently than a 2002 home in San Marco or a new build out in Nocatee.

And once you have all the numbers, you have to compare them apples to apples. There is one trap on that, explained below.

The AAA Bundle Tends to Win When:

  • Your home is newer (under 10 years old) with a newer roof, where AAA's home rate is competitive
  • You're already paying for AAA membership and want the value to count toward something
  • You drive a standard vehicle with a clean record and AAA's auto rate is in the top 3 we shop
  • You value the single-deductible benefit on hurricane events
  • You want one renewal date, one bill, and one company to call

Splitting Home and Auto Tends to Win When:

  • Your home is older or has had a recent claim, where specialty Florida home companies price more aggressively than AAA
  • You drive multiple vehicles or have a teen driver, where Progressive or Auto-Owners may price auto more competitively
  • Your current home rate is already strong, but your auto rate is high (or vice versa)
  • You're willing to give up the multi-policy discount for a better rate on each individual line
  • You want maximum competition between companies at every renewal

This is the analysis we run on every AAA quote. Most quotes come back within a day once we have everything. If anything takes longer, we'll tell you why. You see what AAA bundled costs versus what splitting across our other companies costs. Same coverage. Same limits. Real numbers.

Important when you compare quotes: AAA auto is annual. Most others are 6-month.

AAA writes Florida auto on a 12-month term. Geico, Progressive, State Farm, and most national companies write 6-month terms. The number on a Geico quote covers half a year. The AAA number covers a full year.

People put them next to each other and think AAA is way more expensive when it actually is not.

When we run bundle-vs-split math, we always convert everything to annual. Home annual. Auto annual. Total annual. That is the only way to know which path actually wins. If your insurance shopping has ever felt like apples vs oranges, this is one of the big reasons why.

Discounts

What Discounts Does AAA Offer in Florida?

AAA stacks several discounts on the FL Package. We make sure each one that applies to you actually shows up on your quote. Common Florida AAA discounts include:

  • Multi-policy discount.
Built into the FL Package. This is the core reason the bundle exists.
  • Wind mitigation credits.
Florida law requires the home insurance company to apply credits for hurricane straps, secondary water resistance, roof shape, and roof deck attachment. A current wind mit inspection is required.
  • Roof age and home age credits.
Newer roofs get the largest credits. Newer homes (post-2002 Florida Building Code) qualify for additional construction credits.
  • Multi-car discount.
Two or more vehicles on the same policy.
  • AAA Drive (telematics).
Optional usage-based program that can earn additional auto savings for safe drivers.
  • Pay in full and paperless.
Avoiding installment fees and choosing electronic billing typically reduces premium.
  • Senior or retiree discounts.
Available depending on age and driving history.
  • OEM parts coverage on auto.
Optional add-on that makes sure your repair shop uses original-equipment parts instead of aftermarket.
Umbrella
Liability Layer

AAA Umbrella Insurance: How It Works with the Bundle

Yes. Once your home and auto are bundled with AAA, an umbrella policy can be added on top for additional liability protection above your home and auto liability limits. AAA umbrella requires the bundle to be in place first. They will not write umbrella over a non-AAA home or auto policy.

Most umbrella companies in Florida require minimum auto liability of 250/500 to be eligible. Some now require 500/500. We coordinate the underlying limits with the umbrella application so there's no gap. Read more about how umbrella works on our personal umbrella insurance page.

If you want umbrella but don't want to bundle home and auto with AAA: RLI writes umbrella policies in Florida that you can buy on their own that don't require your auto to be with any specific company. We use RLI often for clients who like their current auto insurance and just want the umbrella layer added.

How Much Does AAA Insurance Cost in Jacksonville?

AAA pricing in Florida depends on the same things every home and auto company looks at: the age of your home, your roof, where in Jacksonville you live, your driving record, what cars you have, and your AAA membership.

In our experience, AAA bundle pricing in Jacksonville lands somewhere in the middle of the pack. Sometimes it is the lowest number on the page. Sometimes it isn't.

The 2025 and 2026 rate cuts have moved AAA toward the more competitive end, but a 2024 home in Nocatee with two clean drivers prices out very differently than a 2002 home in Mandarin with a teen on the policy.

Two households on the same street can get very different numbers. The fastest way to know what AAA will cost your household is to send us your declarations pages and let us run the quote.

Fill out the form below and we will run the AAA bundle, AAA auto by itself where it fits, and your strongest options across our other companies. Most quotes come back within a day once we have everything. No obligation, and your information is never sold.

Common Questions

AAA Insurance in Florida: Common Questions

Does AAA write home insurance in Florida?

Yes, but only as part of a bundle with auto. The FL Package combines home (or condo) and at least one vehicle into one policy through Auto Club Insurance Company of Florida. AAA does not sell home insurance without auto in Florida, and they do not write rental property, landlord, or renters policies.

How old can my home be to qualify for AAA in Florida?

Per AAA's 2026 Florida home guidelines, AAA writes homes built 1995 or newer. Homes built in 1994 or earlier are not eligible for the FL Package. If your home is older than that, AAA cannot write the home portion, but you can still get AAA auto on its own, and we have 26 other home insurance companies for the home, including specialty Florida companies built for older homes.

Is AAA auto insurance a 6-month or 12-month policy?

AAA writes Florida auto insurance on a 12-month (annual) term. Most national companies, including Geico, Progressive, State Farm, and Allstate, write 6-month auto terms. When comparing AAA's auto rate to a 6-month quote from another company, you have to double the 6-month number to compare apples to apples. Otherwise AAA looks twice as expensive when it actually may not be.

Can I get AAA auto insurance without bundling my home?

Yes. AAA writes auto insurance by itself in Florida through Auto Club South Insurance Company. You can move your auto to AAA while keeping your home with another company. We use this path when AAA's auto rate beats what you have but their home rate doesn't.

Do I need a AAA membership to get insurance through AAA?

Yes. An active AAA membership is required for both the FL Package and AAA auto on its own. If you're not a member, we add the membership at the time we write your policy. Membership includes roadside assistance, travel discounts, and other AAA benefits.

Does it cost more to use a local AAA agent instead of going direct?

No. AAA rates are filed with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation and are the same whether you go through a local agent or AAA-direct. The advantage of using us is that we can compare AAA against 80+ other companies in the same conversation. AAA-direct can only quote AAA.

Can independent insurance agents sell AAA insurance in Florida?

Most cannot. AAA insurance in Florida is only available through agencies that have been authorized by AAA to write it. Augustyniak Insurance Group is one of those authorized independent agencies. That means we can quote AAA alongside our 80+ other companies in the same conversation, instead of being limited to AAA-only or AAA-excluded.

Does AAA write condo insurance in Florida?

Yes. AAA writes condo insurance (HO-6 policies) as part of the FL Package, bundled with auto. The condo + auto bundle is a real option for condo owners in Jacksonville Beach, Southside, downtown, and elsewhere in Florida. Condo insurance without auto is not available through AAA.

What companies underwrite AAA insurance in Florida?

AAA-branded insurance in Florida is written by two companies owned by The Auto Club Group: Auto Club South Insurance Company (auto policies) and Auto Club Insurance Company of Florida (the FL Package). Both are AAA-affiliated and members of the same group.

Has AAA been raising or lowering rates in Florida?

AAA has reduced rates on Florida policies multiple times since the 2022 and 2023 tort reforms. Three approved auto rate cuts totaling 15%+ took effect in 2025, along with a 5% home rate reduction. A fourth round of auto rate reductions was filed in October 2025 with effective dates in early 2026.

Can I add umbrella insurance to the AAA bundle?

Yes. Once the FL Package is in place, AAA can add a personal umbrella policy on top of your home and auto liability limits. AAA umbrella requires the bundle to be in place first. If you want umbrella without bundling, we can write it through RLI, which doesn't require your auto to be with a specific company.

What if my home doesn't qualify for AAA in Florida?

The most common reasons a Florida home does not qualify are home age (AAA writes 1995 or newer), roof age, or recent claims history. If AAA cannot take your home, we have 26 other home insurance companies, including specialty Florida companies built for older homes, homes with prior claims, or harder-to-place risks. The right home company is almost always somewhere on our shelf.

How long does it take to get a AAA quote through your agency?

Most home and auto reviews take one phone call to gather information. Most quotes come back within a day once we have everything. If anything takes longer, we'll tell you why.

We review your current declarations pages, your wind mit inspection if you have one, and your driving record. Then we quote AAA the bundle, AAA auto by itself, and your strongest alternatives across our other companies.
